Electric Compliance Assurance department is part of the Electric
Risk & Compliance organization, where together we will embed
compliance and risk in all that we do and achieve regulatory
outcomes that support the business’ needs. The work of this
department is critical in our efforts to find compliance challenges
and identify areas of risk so that we can fix them. The main
functions of this new department are identifying areas of
compliance risk and opportunities to mitigate those risks,
including through incident reporting and investigations, overseeing
Electric Operations and Power Generation CAP, and validating the
controls on the organization. Position Summary PG&E is seeking
an experienced business professional to lead the Electric Incident
Investigations (EII) Team. The EII team is responsible for
reporting Electric Incidents (EIRs) to the California Public
Utilities Commission (CPUC), investigating EIRs and areas of
compliance risk to determine the cause and any corrective or
preventive measures to mitigate reoccurrence. As the Supervisor of
Incident Investigations, you oversee investigations tied to safety
events, operational failures, and potential regulatory risk. You
ensure that every investigation, from Electric Incident Reports
(EIRs) to major operational events, is handled with consistency,
objectivity, and rigor. With deep technical and regulatory
expertise, you bring a structured approach to root cause analysis,
corrective action development, and defensible documentation that
strengthens PG&E’s safety culture and compliance posture. Your
work reinforces PG&E’s commitment that Everyone and Everything

continuous improvement across investigations. Location of this
position is flexible within PG&E service territory and will
require occasional travel to other areas around PG&E’s service
territory. This position is hybrid, working from an assigned office
three days a week and your remote office the remainder of the week.
The selected candidate must live within PG&E’s service
territory. PG&E is providing the salary range that the company
in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time
of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the
locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will
be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to,
specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience,
market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we
estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be
placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision
will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. A
reasonable salary range is: Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area)
$128,000.00 Mid Base Salary (Bay Area) $173,000.00 Maximum Base
Salary (Bay Area) $218,000.00 Minimum Base Salary (California)
$122,000.00 Mid Base Salary (California) $164,000.00 Maximum Base
Salary (California) $207,000.00 Reporting Relationship This
position reports to the Manager, Incident Investigations Job
Responsibilities and Expectations Perform Technical Review of
Electric Incident Investigations of varying risk. Manage team to
prepare and submit Electric Incident Reports and Apparent Cause
Evaluations (ACEs), including identifying corrective actions and
gaining consensus with senior leadership to mitigate risk. Manage
team to identify and summarize compliance risk concerns, including
forecasting potential Notices of Violation (NOVs) from the
California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). Manage team to
prepare and submit responses to NOVs received by the CPUC. Manage
team to investigate issues of medium to high risk to PG&E,
including working with PG&Es Legal team. Prepare and present
summary of findings and risk to PG&E to senior and executive
leaders. Develops and maintains the compliance evidence record and
repository. Oversee staff specialized in this function. Works on
special projects and process improvement initiatives in Electric
Operations as they relate to compliance programs, such as
benchmarking best practices in the industry and implementing
recommended improvements. Assesses and determines potential
impacts. Recommends responses to challenges. Presents to executives
on programmatic details in response to risk management requests,
regulatory items, and other external communications. Determines
most effective department metrics to measure performance against
annual or longer-term goals and objectives for time bound projects
or ongoing operational work. Regularly presents department
scorecard to senior management and adjusts based on business needs.
Responsible for the regulatory compliance of the department’s
programs, which may include meeting on a regular basis with Legal,
Regulatory Relations, and the CPUC, and formal investigation and
response to Data Requests and Notices of Violation. Work with
regulators and other internal LOBs to ensure department meets
regulatory rule changes, updating supporting processes as
appropriate. Effectively maneuver through complex organizational
situations without disruption, routinely resolving escalations to
Director-level, Vice President-level and above. Manages staff to
accomplish results through effective recruitment and selection,
training and development, performance management and rewards and
recognition. Background Qualifications Minimum High School Diploma
or GED 5 years of experience in auditing or quality assurance 2
years supervisory or project/team lead experience Travel is
approximately 40% with occasional overnight stays Desired Master’s
Degree or equivalent experience. Expertise with electric operation
systems (data systems within electric operations). Knowledge of
operations, maintenance, and engineering program processes and
procedures. Certification in Root Cause Analysis (e.g., TapRooT®,
Cause Mapping, or equivalent) Professional Certified Investigator
(PCI – ASIS) Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI)
Professional Engineer (P.E.)
