At Walmart Inc., a leader in global retail, we are enhancing our customer experiences across all online platforms through our IT & Cybersecurity department. We are currently seeking a seasoned Staff Software Engineer specialized in Backend Web UI development to join our innovative team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building scalable, high-performing web applications that integrate with complex back-end systems. You will contribute to projects that are pivotal to the digital footprint and ecommerce operations at Walmart, leveraging the latest technologies to influence the success of our platforms. Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs. Collaborate with front-end engineers and product managers to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes to enhance the user experience. Develop high-quality code, establish development standards, and perform code reviews. Implement secure applications and data protection measures. Monitor software performance, update documentation, and perform debugging when necessary. Stay informed with advancements in web applications and programming languages. Continuously improve functionality and scalability of backend systems. Expertise in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js. Strong understanding of database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases. Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and API design. Knowledge of web server technologies like Node.js, J2EE, Apache, Nginx, ISS, etc. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git. Familiarity with frontend technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is advantageous.
