RoleAs our lead recruiter, you will be critical in ensuring we have
strong fellow teammates to build a category-defining business! You
will act as a recruiting swiss army knife and own all of Shepherd's
recruiting efforts - from sourcing top talent to managing candidate
experience throughout the interview process. If you thrive in a

to build Shepherd's recruiting function from the ground up and gain
exposure to various aspects of the business, including building out
the team, developing processes, and establishing best practices.We
have offices in San Francisco (HQ) and New York. We love working
together in person and are prioritizing candidates in San Francisco
at this time.Responsibilities
- Work closely with hiring managers across the company to
understand unique hiring needs, specific job profiles/requirements,
timeline, and priorities.
- Own the top of funnel outreach efforts for the company's hiring
needs for both technical (Engineering, Product, Design, Actuarial)
and business/go-to-market (Underwriting, Marketing, Customer
Experience, etc.) roles.
- Handle initial screenings independently and filter candidates
on behalf of business unit leaders.
- Optimize the candidate lifecycle from role kick-off through
onboarding to meet business needs/priorities.
- Create a positive and memorable candidate experience that keeps
talent in the pipeline engaged.
- Build long term, repeatable processes that will help scale our
outbound recruiting efforts, including: researching, sourcing,
talent pooling, process design, and skills assessment
techniques.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to establish interview best
practices and train teammates.
- Create, track, analyze and share key recruiting
metrics/insights that will be used to streamline processes and
forecast the hiring funnel.You would be our dream candidate if---
- You have a minimum of 4+ years of experience in
recruiting/talent roles (bonus: 2+ years of startup
experience).
- You have experience with recruiting for both technical
(Engineering, Product, Design) and non-technical (Go-to-Market,
Business, G&A) roles.
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- You have the ability to prioritize work, demonstrate a sense of
urgency, and provide top notch candidate experience.
- You are excited about process development and team
building.
- You embrace ambiguity and welcome new challenges/learning
opportunities.
- You are a team player and enjoy working cross
functionally.
- Proficient with Greenhouse ATS and LinkedIn Recruiter.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.Salary RangeThe
salary range for this role is $125,000 to $165,000 for this
position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including
but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The
range(s) listed is just one component of Shepherd's total
compensation package for employees. Other benefits include equity,
