ICU/Critical Care RN in Woodland, California, 95695! Job Title:
Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: ICU
(Intensive Care Unit) Duration: 16 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights
Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ICU
experience License: Required Certifications: - BLS - ACLS - NIHSS -
PALS Must-Have: - 2 years of ICU experience - Ability to read and
interpret EKG strips - Experience with ventilators Description:
Candidates must have two supervisor references at the time of
submission. One reference must be within the last 12 months and one
within the last three years. Travelers must complete a required
assessment prior to acceptance. The assessment is pass or fail, and
candidates are allowed two attempts to complete it successfully.
All candidates are expected to float to sister facilities as well
as other units as needed. The unit consists of a maximum of eight
beds. Ratios in the unit may vary between 1:1 to 1:2. Charge nurses
generally do not take patients but are available for break relief.
Nurse aides are available as staffing and census dictate. Weekend
work is required every other weekend. The holiday schedule rotates
with core staff. Scrubs required are navy blue, with permitted
undershirt colors being navy, white, or black. Scrub jackets are
optional and must also be navy. The facility has a full-time
respiratory therapist and pharmacy services available 24/7. Shift
reports are conducted at the bedside. Extra shifts may be
available, and self-scheduling is utilized but is finalized by
management. Travelers can access schedules remotely and make
themselves available for extra shifts. Floating may occur within
all associated facilities. The typical patient population includes
primarily medical ICU cases. The ICU layout is designed in a
horseshoe format, providing a conducive environment for basic ICU
nursing. The cancellation policy allows for the cancellation of up
to four shifts during a 13-week assignment. Charting is done using
an electronic medical record system. This is an acute care setting
within the nursing division. Nursing staff must be flexible and
