  • A hospital near Sacramento is looking for experienced MedSurg/Telemetry nurses for a travel contract.
  • The right candidate will be able to read/interpret EKG strips, have 2 years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIH and CA License.

    • Active BLS, ACLS, NIH and CA License
    • Need 2 supervisor references at submittal; 1 within 12 months & 1 within 3 years worked
    • Completion of modules required before start of assignment.
      • Schedule Information
      • Schedule: 12 hr shifts. 7 - 7:30.
      • Report is at the bedside.
      • OT and extra shifts are available.
      • Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it.
      • Schedules are out 4 weeks.
      • Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves 'available' for extra shifts and make trades with other staff.
      • Block scheduling is generally not available.
      • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Unit: 2A and 3A MedSurg Tele
        • Number of beds: 30 (2A) and 14 (3A)
        • Ratios: 1:4-5. 1:4 if all tele patients.
        • EMR: Cerner
        • Charge Nurse: Yes, generally does not take patients but will do break relief.
        • Nurse Aides: Yes, as census and staffing dictates
        • Holidays: Rotate in with core staff
        • Scrub Color: Navy - undershirts must be navy, white, or black. Scrub jackets are optional, must be navy.
        • Tele: Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.
        • Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes
        • IV Team: No
        • RT 24/7: Yes
        • Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
          • Additional Details
          • Modules take on average 3-4 hours to complete-this time is not billable to the hospital.
          • Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years).
          • Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed.
          • Need good customer service skills and communication skills.
          • This is a very team-oriented environment.
          • They do not often have travelers, but very much appreciate them when they do.
