Job Description:

The Behavioral Health Clinician reports directly to the designated Adult Program Supervisor and provides individual and group counseling to clients in various treatment programs. CommuniCare Health Centers is a Federally Qualified Health Center providing comprehensive patient-centered primary care services including medical, dental, substance abuse treatment, behavioral health and outreach services to low income, multi-ethnic, uninsured and underinsured populations. Fill-in position (0-40 hr/week, Monday-Friday) which may include evening hours at Hansen Family Health Center in Woodland. RESPONSIBILITIES:The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.Conducts screening and intake assessments for clients. Completes all client information and documentation in a timely manner according to guidelines.Writes and completes treatment plans in a timely manner according to Drug Medi-Cal guidelines.Works with clients to establish long and short term goals. Counselor is responsible for detecting emotional, psychological, and physical danger signals. Counselor is non-judgmental and offers feedback and support to clients.Provides information to clients including treatment alternatives and referral service.Responsible for remaining within the ethical standards established in the field, including those of confidentiality.Responsible for explaining and enforcing all rules and regulations associated with clinic treatment policy.Compile and report statistics as required.Attend clinical supervision and weekly staff meetings. Attend training/conferences as arranged.Responsible for maintaining the standards as listed in the CommuniCare Health Centers Policies and Procedures, and any other standards which may apply to this position.Responsible for working with CPS, Probation, and other agencies to case manage clients as directed by supervisor.Other projects as may be assigned. QualificationsEducation: MSW/MFTI or Registered Addiction Specialist required. Knowledge/Experience: A minimum of two years experience working in behavioral health field with adults. Special Skills/Equipment: Bilingual Spanish/English preferred. Must provide proof of current driver's license and auto insurance. Expectations: Ability to work well with a multidisciplinary team. Ability to problem solve, and be self-motivated. Understanding and use of DSM IV. Beginning to intermediate computer proficiency required. Must have a commitment to excellence and high standards. Must have excellent written and oral skills, strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills. Must have ability to manage priorities and workflow. Required to have versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm and have acute attention to detail. Expected to have strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to understand and follow written/verbal instructions. Able to work independently with little or no supervision. Required to have the ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels and with external customers. Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Ability to operate office equipment, including computer equipment. Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time, with occasional walking. Requires a moderate level of mobility, dexterity, and flexibility in order to perform essential functions. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, reach with hands and arms, and to lift 15 lbs. Hearing and close vision abilities required. Work is performed in a typical office environment with moderate equipment noise. Travel to other agency sites required.
