originally creating the best-selling Kindle family of products.
Since then, we have produced amazing devices like Fire tablets,
Fire TV and Amazon Echo. What will you help us create? The Senior
Manager, Devices Business Management is the relationship owner for
the Amazon Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) Device
Manufacturing Services suppliers that provide co-development
resources, procure components, design, manufacture and test digital
devices. In this capacity the Senior Manager, Devices Business
Management has the responsibility to: - Lead a team of Device
Business Managers in the sourcing, selection, contract negotiation
and management of one or more EMS suppliers in alignment with the
overarching EMS strategy. Ensure a competitive sourcing environment
leading to continuous improvement in Engr. Services, Line
Readiness, Quality, Business Management, Contract management and
adherence, delivery, cost, quality and social responsibility. -
Actively engage the Device Operations and Engineering organizations
with the EMS suppliers to achieve the programmatic objectives. -
Lead the commercial and contractual aspects of the relationship and
drive multi-functional teams relative to EMS Suppliers involvement.
- Responsible for EMS supplier Performance Management and leading
cross-functional business reviews. -Leads the growth and
development of their team; hiring, promoting and performance
managing to instill the highest capability. This requires that the
Senior Manager, Device Business Management to be both an advocate
for the supplier within Lab126 and drive the best possible EMS
performance. The Senior Manager, Device Business Management will
instill a forward-thinking collaborative and mutually-beneficial
long-term relationship with a holistic point of view, not just a
product or single supplier perspective – a business owner. These
high profile responsibilities require significant breadth and
business acumen as the responsibilities are very diverse and
impactful: Technical - Expert understanding of the EMS supplier
landscape and capabilities, both manufacturing and engineering
services. Demonstrating a strong knowledge of technology, advanced
manufacturing assembly/ testing methodologies, and product
development processes. Drive EMS Supplier relationships to ensure
Amazon content is integrated in a way that supports our brand.
Negotiation Skills – Lead all commercial discussions related to EMS
relationships. Able to negotiate best in class contract pricing,
terms and conditions on large contracts with suppliers who are
exceptionally skilled at protecting thin margins. Exercise good
judgement in knowing when and how best to address issues or drive
change. Contract Management – Ensure that the suppliers execute and
adhere to the contracts and renegotiate whenever possible to
realize benefits from bundling work with Strategic Suppliers. This
is not limited to dollars but being able to protect Amazon’s bottom
line in all aspects – IP, indemnity, confidentiality, etc. as these
are all crucial to how Amazon is able to have successful launches.
In the case of an EMS relationship ensure that the contracts
protect Amazon’s brand and meet customer requirements. Financial –
Responsible for negotiating MVA, NRE, component costs, claims and
other costs from our EMSs. Drives cost management within the supply
chain on behalf of our customers. Relationship Builder – Have the
ability to engage, influence and arbitrate both the supplier and
the Lab126 stakeholder organizations at the operational and Sr.
Executive levels. Build excellent business cases and have executive
presence. Leader-lead a team culture of excellence and
collaboration. Knowing when to dive in and when to pull back from
oversight and how to best motivate their team. Set the example for
integrity, professionalism, and competence within the organization.
About the team Devices Business Management (DBM) is responsible for
the business relationship with the EMS Suppliers. The DBM team is
structured by Business Managers, CapEx Business Managers, Advanced
Sourcing, Strategy leads and Implementation lead based in in
different geographies. The team collaborates cross functionally
with Product Operations, Engineering, Quality, legal and Finance
throughout product life cycle to innovate, design for cost and
quality ensuring timely delivery - 10 years of building and leading
large teams and working in matrixed operating structures experience
- Knowledge of distribution networks and channel P&Ls -
Bachelor's degree or equivalent - Experience working and
communicating with multiple stakeholders, C-level executives and
cross functional teams or equivalent - Experience in strategic
thinking about business, enterprise software products, and new
technology platforms and architectures or equivalent - Experience
negotiating VP-level contracts with channel partners and agencies -
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including
Marketing, Product Management, Customer Service, Operations, Legal,
Finance, and Senior Leadership - Experience managing and developing
high performance teams - Master's degree or equivalent - Experience
working with Data & AI related technologies, including, but not
limited to, AI/ML, GenAI, Analytics, Database, and/or Storage

this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include
sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final
compensation will be determined based on factors including
