Job Description Job Description Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Opportunity for a Sign Language Interpreter to support K-8 students in a dynamic educational environment located in Oroville, CA. This travel position involves onsite work facilitating effective communication between deaf and hard of hearing students, their hearing peers, and school staff. Key Responsibilities: Provide sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpretation during classroom instruction and school activities Assist students with academic subjects including reading, writing, and math Support student engagement in vocational and life skills development Monitor student safety and participation during classroom and community activities Collaborate closely with teachers and school personnel to enhance student learning experiences Qualifications: Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), or EIPA score of 4.0 or above, ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI assessment Candidates with EIPA scores below 4.0 will be considered and classified as ASL Paraprofessionals Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and an Associates Degree (AA) is acceptable for consideration Experience working in educational settings preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work full-time, approximately 30 hours per week (6 hours per day) Location and Schedule: Onsite in Oroville, CA (travel required) Assignment duration: Immediate start through May 28, 2026 Elementary and intermediate school settings available; candidate preferences will be accommodated This role offers the chance to impact the educational success of deaf and hard of hearing students by providing critical interpretive services.
