(ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1
year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings.
Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be
considered. This full-time Sign Language Interpreter position based
in Magalia, CA offers the opportunity to support students who are
hard of hearing or deaf in an educational setting. The role
requires facilitating communication between students, teachers, and
staff to promote an inclusive learning environment in elementary
and intermediate school classrooms. Key Responsibilities: Provide
sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpretation to facilitate
classroom instruction and interaction Assist students with academic
subjects including reading, writing, and math Support students in
developing vocational and living skills Monitor students during
classroom, outdoor, and community activities to ensure their safety
and engagement Collaborate with educators and school personnel to
enhance student communication and learning Qualifications & Desired
Experience: Certification from the National Registry of
Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), or a minimum score of 4.0 on EIPA,
ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI assessments preferred Candidates with EIPA
scores under 4.0 may be considered and classified as ASL Para
Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) essential Associates degree
in ASL or related field is a plus Previous experience working with
deaf or hard of hearing students in educational settings highly
desirable Location & Schedule: Onsite position in Magalia, CA
Full-time, approximately 30 hours per week (6 hours per day)
Contract position through 5/28/26 This role is key to supporting
equal access to education for students with hearing differences.
