Salary range:
The salary range for this position is $113,300-$126,700. "Off-scale
salaries" and other components of pay, i.e., a salary that is
higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank
and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive
conditions, qualifications, and experience.

Position description
The Center for Neuroscience (CNS) in the College of Biological
Sciences and the Department of Neurological Surgery in the School
of Medicine at the University of California, Davis will invite
applications for a position in cognitive/computational neuroscience
at the assistant professor level, ladder rank tenure track, to
begin November 1, 2024. Candidates must possess a PhD. and/or M.D.
degree. We seek an outstanding candidate focused on addressing how
cortical and subcortical networks generate complex behaviors such
as memory, decision-making and planning, learning, sensorimotor
control, motivation and cognitive control, language and
communication, etc., in both health and disease. We especially seek
candidates who will interact and enhance our growing team focused
on human intracranial recording and stimulation. Cognitive and
computational neuroscientists are encouraged to apply.
Experimentalists may also apply but please note that the space for
this search is dry lab space; thus, the candidate's research
program would be in the OR and/or clinics.
The appointee is expected to have an active research program, a
strong commitment to high quality teaching, the potential to
attract extramural funding, and excellent potential for
interactions/collaborations with faculty at the CNS and in the
Neurological Surgery Department. The ideal candidate will have
interest in applying their research to both basic and translational
neuroscience. The applicant's accomplishments in innovative
research and commitments to teaching and promoting diversity,
equity, and inclusion should demonstrate their potential to develop
into the future leaders of their fields.
