The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating electrical costs for commercial and industrial projects, ensuring that bids are submitted on time and within budget. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical systems, project management, and cost analysis to support our ongoing projects. Key Responsibilities - Perform detailed cost estimates for electrical projects based on project specifications and blueprints. - Utilize quantity takeoff techniques to assess material and labor requirements accurately. - Prepare and submit bids for commercial and industrial projects in compliance with client requirements and NEC code. - Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project scopes and timelines. - Conduct risk assessments to identify potential challenges and cost implications in project delivery. - Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best pricing and terms. - Maintain and update estimating databases and prepare reports on project costs and budgets using Microsoft Excel. - Review and analyze project bids from subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project requirements. - Support project teams during the execution phase by providing cost information and budget updates. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimating for commercial and industrial projects. - Strong knowledge of NEC code and electrical systems design. - Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel for estimating and reporting. - Experience with project management principles and practices. - Demonstrated ability in cost analysis and bid preparation. - Strong negotiation skills with experience in contract negotiation and vendor management. - Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in risk assessment and budgeting.
