Job Description:
Primary Purpose The University of the Pacific, Harold S. Jacoby
Center partnered with Stockton Unified School District to provide
after school program services to elementary students enrolled in
Expanded Learning Opportunities Program ( ELOP ). The After School
Program Staff Lead plays a vital frontline support role in the
success of the ELOP program. This individual assists in maintaining
the structure, systems, and smooth daily operations of after-school
programming at their assigned school site. While not responsible
for performing the duties of the Site Program Facilitator or
organizational supervisor, the Staff Lead serves as a bridge
between staff, school site leaders, and their organization, helping
to onboard new staff, assist with attendance processes, and ensure
consistent communication and coordination. The Staff Lead model’s
positive behavior, supports program expectations, and provides
in-the-moment assistance to staff and students. In the temporary
absence of the Program Facilitator/Site Lead, they may step into a
leadership capacity to help ensure uninterrupted program operations
and safety. Essential Functions Program Support & Site Operations
Assist in implementing daily program activities, supporting
preparation, transitions, and student engagement. Help promote and
reinforce established systems, routines, and expectations as
outlined by the ELOP Facilitator and school site leadership. Lead
by example through positive, professional conduct with students,
staff, and school personnel. Assist with day-to-day logistics and
support needs, without assuming leadership or administrative
responsibilities. Staff Onboarding & Orientation Assist the PF in
onboarding of new and substitute staff by: Providing a
site-specific tour Reviewing daily routines, supervision areas,
emergency procedures, and school culture expectations. Attendance &
Compliance Support Assist with student and staff attendance
tracking, including sign-in/sign-out procedures and documentation.
Help uphold compliance and safety protocols established by the
school and partner organization. Behavior Management & Staff
Coaching Model and assist staff with positive, trauma-informed
behavior management strategies. Assist staff with in-the-moment
behavior challenges using youth-centered approaches. Promote a
respectful and supportive team dynamic. Communication & Liaison
Foster strong communication between all levels of the program and
site team. Leadership in the Absence of Site Facilitator
Temporarily assume site leadership support when the ELOP
Facilitator is unavailable by: Overseeing student transitions and
safety protocols Monitoring daily program flow and ensuring staff
support Communicating any incidents or urgent needs to the
appropriate parties Additional Duties Perform other tasks as
assigned to assist with evolving program needs and site-specific

staff. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED .
Forty-eight (48) completed college units or Paraprofessional
Certificate. Ability to pass fingerprint clearance through
Department of Justice once hired. Preferred Qualifications One (1)
year of experience working with children. Familiarity in working in
tutoring or after school program/environment. Demonstrated
leadership or supervisory experience. Ability to follow systems and
take direction from multiple leadership points (organization and
school site). Reliable, flexible, and committed to the mission of
expanded learning. Dependable and consistent presence on-site
Collaborative and communicative Proactive in offering support
without overstepping roles Respectful of school and organizational
leadership structures Strong interpersonal and communication
skills. Experience and sensitivity in working with people of
diverse backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in
advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university
setting. Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive
practices and knowledge in their work.
