seeking an ambitious and technically skilled Senior Revenue
Accountant to join our fast-growing Accounting team. This role is
instrumental in driving operational excellence and compliance
within our revenue recognition processes across our advanced
defense software and hardware programs. You will oversee the full
revenue lifecycle—from contract review through month-end
close—collaborating closely with Legal, Sales, Program Finance, and
Business Development to ensure compliance with ASC 606 and optimize
deal structures. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of
technology, finance, and national security innovation. What you'll
do: Manage and review customer contracts to ensure accurate and
compliant revenue recognition under ASC 606, partnering
cross-functionally with Legal, Sales, and Program Finance. Own and
continuously evolve Shield AI’s revenue recognition policies,
including SSP analyses and allocations, as new pricing models and
product lines are introduced. Lead monthly and quarterly revenue
close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations,
analyses, and preparation of supporting documentation. Serve as a
subject matter expert on ASC 606, providing guidance on complex
technical accounting issues and contract structuring. Support audit
readiness, including preparation of schedules, memos, and responses
to internal and external audit inquiries. Partner with FP&A and
Operations to provide accurate revenue forecasts, KPIs, and
insights that drive strategic decision-making. Streamline and
enhance order-to-cash processes, implementing SOX controls and
corporate accounting policies. Participate in special projects
related to new product launches, international expansion, and
process automation. Required qualifications: 5 years of relevant
experience in revenue accounting under ASC 606; CPA strongly
preferred. Deep understanding of order-to-cash (OTC) processes and
their operational impact. Prior experience in SaaS, PaaS, or
technology-driven industries; defense or aerospace experience is a
plus. Proficiency with ERP and CRM systems and strong
Excel/analytical skills. Strong technical accounting background,
including the preparation of technical memos and documentation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of
translating technical guidance into practical business insights.
Proven ability to work effectively across departments and manage
multiple priorities in a fast-paced startup environment. Bachelor’s
degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Preferred
qualifications: Experience with public company accounting or Big 4
audit background. Familiarity with government contracting
regulations (FAR, CAS, DFARS). Experience supporting international
entities or multi-currency transactions. Knowledge of SOX
compliance and internal control frameworks. Experience with Deltek
