Rate of Pay: The salary range for this position in Sacramento, CA
is $132,400.00 - 178,600.00 per year and this role is eligible to
earn incentive compensation. Siemens offers a variety of health and

Duties: Integrate systems into company vehicles that interact with
the wayside and onboard systems of light rail vehicles, coaches and
locomotives. Work on hardware integration, software integration,
EMI/EMC considerations, testing, vendor evaluation and selection,
vendor deliverables, commissioning, and trouble-shooting support.
Complete concept, design, specification, integration, interface,
compatibility, verification, and evaluation in support of
mechanical, electro-mechanical, and/or electrical components or
systems from the bid phase to the warranty phase of each project.
Evaluate and approve the technical capabilities and physical
properties of system suppliers and the content of their proposals,
type tests, production documents, software, and manuals. Analyze
and approve the engineering products, software, and/or equipment
specifications and performance to determine and verify
functionality of the physical and functional interfaces. Work with
suppliers, purchasing, quality, production, and project management
regarding scheduling, strategic supply management, and system costs
per contract. Review and support design packages within the system
responsibilities. Provide detailed design review and support for
vehicle mock-ups and swap compatibility tests. Validate and/or
conduct specified analyses or tests and make recommendations for
the development of new designs, methods, changes, or processes for
the relevant system. Support and validate initial installation,
system compliance and testing within specialty field. Write
detailed system specifications and scope of supply documents for
supplier quotations. Evaluate supplier offers with respect to
technical requirements. Prepare system descriptions and test
procedures. Review and approve vendor drawings, schematics, type
test procedures, reports, and manuals prior to release. Prepare
CDRL documentation and design review documentation to be presented
to end customers in formal design reviews. Prepare bid proposals
within the system responsibilities. Review customer specifications
from its system responsibilities. Review new technology and
continuously enhance system capabilities.
Requirements : Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign
equivalent, in Telecommunications, Electronics Engineering,
Electrical Engineering or related field and 36 months of experience
in the job offered, or System Engineer - related occupation.
Position requires experience in the following: Working with
networking protocols including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, WiFi, Ethernet,
Wireless, Bluetooth, and Serial communication; Utilizing
communication protocols including Ethernet, I2C, UART, SPI, CAN,
Modbus, and RS-232; Utilizing troubleshooting tools including
Picoscope, Oscilloscope, and Multimeter; Systems engineering
processes/standards under ISO/IEC 15288, software development under
EN 50128/50657 and troubleshooting and network engineering; Working
with Radio Frequency (RF) communication; Working with IP-based
Passenger Information Systems, Signage, and CCTV; Working with GPS,
CAD/AVL, and WiFi/LTE Systems; Utilizing schematic tools and
requirements tools including DOORS, and SAP; Working in the rail or
aerospace industries with wayside or vehicle systems.
10% domestic travel is required.
